If you have some young kids who need help with math, I found a pretty good site which will create math worksheets for you to use with your child.
It’s called superkids.com
I’m using the math worksheet for the first grader I’m helping.

Last night at Toastmasters, Bill C. gave a speech about how his car was broken into with just a screwdriver and a hammer. It didn’t set off the car alarm and his wife’s purse which was hidden and out of sight was taken. This happened in St. Louis – South County, and he was told that there have been quite a few similar car break-ins lately.
The lessons learned were two:
1. Don’t leave anything valuable in the car – purse, wallet, camera.
2. Once a year scan your wallet so that if it is stolen, you’ll know who to call and what their phone numbers are. Put it on your calendar NOW.
Note – I used to keep a couple of checks in my wallet, but have taken them out. Now I don’t have to worry about my checking account.

I was watching a recent Hubble telescope show on TV and some of the statements by scientists were quite startling.
There is five times more Dark Matter [DM] (we don’t know what this is) then there is Physical Matter[PM].(atoms, chemicals etc.)
Otherwise galaxies would fly apart – something is holding them together – Dark Matter.
Even if you add the Dark Matter and the Physical Matter, the universe is still missing 2/3 of the matter.
Let’s say that we have knowledge of 1/1000 of the physical world.( I’m being generous, but we have to start somewhere.)
If PW = X
What we know = 1/1000X
DM = 5X
X + 5 X = 1/3 Total (T)
6X = 1/3 T
18X = T
What we know of everything = 1/18000 = .0000555

As I’m helping a friend with a budgeting program for kids, I thought I might post the one-page budget I’ve used ever since college. You can find it at (click here) If you have group which would like a presentation on this subject let me know.
I did a program for a 5th grade class and at the beginning of the class they all repeated this positive affirmation. It’s a mantra most adults could use also.
I am SOMEBODY.
I am capable and lovable.
I am teachable and therefore I can learn.
I respect myself and others.
I am going to be the best that I can be each day.
I am using my time well because it is valuable
I am precious and bright.
I am SOMEBODY.
